Heyyy everyone! This term our theme was Let The Music play. Our focus question is “How do elements of music create a distinctive sound in different cultures, and how can I use them to write my own song?”.

Here is mine and Nu Nu’s song that we have been working on for the past few weeks. Our song is called Best Star and is about how love can be anywhere and everywhere when a special person enters your life.

Please don’t judge our voices, we tried our best.

Reflection: I think our song is pretty good and a bit funny. The hard part was making the music and trying to match up the lyrics and the easiest part was recording. For the music we used garageband, then for the lyrics we used gemini only for like one word, then I worked on the cover using canva, lastly we put it all together and edited it on google vids. Overall I think that it was a fun and exciting project to do and work on.

Heyy everyone! Last week friday was our school’s annual athletics day. We all dressed up in our house colours. My house color is Hikianalia which is yellow. It was such a hot, tiring, fun day. It was really awesome to see everyone dressed up in different colours, wearing tutu’s, and painted shirts. My favourite activity was volleyball because everyone was participating and used teamwork and also there was a lot of encouragement. My least favourite activity was high jump because I just knew that I wouldn’t make it, like do you guys see how short I am 😔.

Hey everyone! This week for literacy we read and learned about a book called Fleet of foot. Here is my response to the text about the book.

     Hey everyone! this weke for literacy we read and learned about a book called Fleet of foot. Our task was to Write 4 diary entries from the narrator’s perspective that correspond to 4 moments.

Diary Entries: Fleet of foot

• I really want to move to Auckland because I miss Tame so much. I am proud of him for making a great decision to move to Auckland because it will help him with his future. Tame wrote letters and described Auckland as loud and busy.

• I live with seven people, isn’t that a bit too much? Well I think it is. We barely even fit around the dinner table! I met someone and his name is Barry. Barry is the type of person who cares about you and your feelings. We would share laughs and he is my best friend. One thing that is our favourite thing to do is throwing away our shoes because I’m used to being barefoot.

• My friends and I would race together to get to school. Some of the pakihas definitely did not like us jumping over their fence. It didn’t bother us at all. We dashed through the vegetable patches and it was so fun.

• When I got to the farm the only thing I could do was milk the cows because there wasn’t really anything to do. My koro came out laughing and I didn’t understand why. Then I saw Tame’s footprints, I sadly stood up and went to it. I was wiggling my toes so I could feel his touch and remember it one last time.

Heyy everyone and welcome back! It’s finally term 4, isn’t that exciting? It’s almost the end of the year. The theme for this term is ” Let The Music Play, Tukua Te Waiata Kia ReRe”. This morning at school we had our immersion assembly like, just like every other 1st day of the term. There was obviously five items that were performed by live and video.

Team 1 teachers made a video about them making cheese scones and finding out that they can make music with the things they have. Team 2 teachers made a video of 2 clips that shows the same thing but with different music to show that music can change something even when it’s the same. Team 3 teachers had a go at making music with cups and discovering rhythms and beats. Team 4 teachers made a musical film showing us how teachers days go at school and how its like. Team 5 teachers performed live like always, they had a friendly game between four students and four teachers. They had to guess which music belongs to the country shown on the screen.

Heyy everyone! I have done the 15th activity for the 2025 Spring Learning Journey (SPLJ).This activity is all about Suffrage day and Kate Sheppard. This activity was very fun to do because it was very interesting finding out things I had never heard about, for example I never knew who the lady on our 10 dollar note was but then after some researching I find out she is kate sheppard the women who in new zealand’s famous suffragist. I made a google slide where I have explained what Suffrage day meant if you didn’t know and the next slide has five very interesting facts about Kate sheppard.

Heyy everyone! I have done the second activity for the 2025 Spring Learning Journey (SPLJ). The activity was to spoil your parents and make them spring themed pancakes. I didn’t have the ingredients to make the pancake so I made toast and cut it with a flower cookie cutter and I added butter on top. I made it just for my mum and she said it was really good. Unfortunately I didn’t capture a photo of the breakfast I made but hopefully you could imagine it.
