Heyy Everyone!! Did y’all miss me? I know you did! For the past week room 3s literacy has been learning how to understand and reflect on the main events, emotions, and cultural experience of a character. We have been reading a book called “Dawn Raids” and it is written by Pauline Vaeluaga Smith. Here is a video of me and my classmates doing a short play and acting out one of the scenes from the book. The scene we did was when Tavita hung himself on a rope and the mum fainted and got spewed on.

Hey everyone! This week room 3’s literacy has been reading the book “Dawn Raids” by Pauline Vaeluaga. Here is a little video of me and my fellow classmates recreating one of the scenes from the book. We had to retell by acting out the darts incident involving Tavita, Ethan and Archie. In the little video I was Archie, Nadi was the nurse and Ethan, Olive was Tavita, and Alepina was an extra character.

The sun rises over the hills
The golden light reflects on the tree leaves

Making my skin soft from it’s glow
It shines above us watching us all,

Sà-wàt-dii khâ everyone! Today room 3’s literacy class has been learning how to use descriptive language in our writing. Our task was to describe the photo given to us. The photo that we got is the only photo that you see on this post. Anyways here is how I described this picture.

My Writing >>>>  The night was cold and quiet, but peaceful. As I looked up I saw the glowing aurora sky. A soft gradient of green and purple light danced and swirled above the mountains like magic. An abundance of stars sparkled across the sky, making it look huge and breathtaking. A yellow tent caught my eye, it was set up on the starchy snowy ground shining brightly in the darkness. The only sound I could hear was the crunch of snow under my boots. The air smelled fresh, like clean ice, and the cold wind tasted like a snowflake melting on my tongue. My fingers felt freezing and numb, in fact my whole body felt freezing and numb. Everything was so still and it was very peaceful. It felt like I was in a dream.

Dear Diary, Today is Monday 28th of April. Yayyy, It’s finally term 2! I woke up this morning feeling a bit anxious because to be honest I didn’t really wanna go to school today but I had to. Anyways, during the holidays it was quite boring. I didn’t really get to do anything, well I mean my family and did go to some Burmese parties but it was still boring. A time where I was happy during the holidays was probably when I was done doing my chores.

During the holidays I guess I did do some fun things, like playing badminton with my siblings. It was actually pretty fun especially when it was my first time playing badminton. Any-who, What did ya’ll do during the holiday? Did you enjoy your holiday? If yes why, if not, why not?
